Flightline Television, in
association with Destiny, announces the
development of the "Explorer".
The "Explorer" is a stock Destiny Machine equipped with amphibious floats for land and water operations. The "Explorer" package will be available as a bolt on option for existing and new Destiny owners.
"The test program has gone extremely well," says Hank Austin, Flightline Television's producer and designer of the "Explorer". "Our biggest surprise is the extra lift provided by the float system." Accordingly, the heavy lift capabilities known by thousands of Destiny owners will hold true for the float equipped "Explorer".
Any powered parachute pilot can fly the "Explorer". No new controls or pilot skills are necessary for the conversion.
The SuperFloat float system has fixed main gear and a retractable nose gear system which allows pilots to make water/land options anytime during flight or water taxi operations.
"I really enjoy water taxiing around marinas, dropping the nose wheel and taxiing right up the launch ramps," says Austin, "That really brings people over to see the "Explorer."
The "Explorer" will make its worldwide debut at Sun'N Fun in Lakeland,
Florida on April 6, 1997.
